BEHIND THE SCENES / Sep 09, 2026

A field kit for better questions.

A simple plan for collecting footage with context, clarity, and fewer missed shots.

Before you arrive

Check access, opening hours, and filming rules. Build a short shot list: an establishing view, an entrance detail, a slow environmental shot, and a stationary take with clean sound.

At the location

Record a spoken timestamp and describe what you can see and hear. Note nearby roads, visitors, wind, and wildlife. Leave a few seconds before and after every movement so the edit has room to breathe.

After the walk

Back up the originals before editing. Keep observations separate from interpretations. If a sound seems unusual, listen to the surrounding minute, not just the dramatic half-second.

The goal isn’t to force an answer. It’s to make the next question better.
